We provide Teacher training courses, so that everybody can learn more about meditation for children.
More than 3000 people have participated in our courses.
These courses are intended specifically for teachers, educators, psychologists, pediatricians, therapists, parents, and anybody who likes to work with children. These Little Buda mini-courses have been in high demand everywhere from Porto to the Algarve, which we take to be an excellent sign that things really are changing for the better!
Introduction to Meditation
The courses are led by Tomás Mello Breyner (project founder) and other members of the Little Buda team.
They are aimed at anybody who would like to guide children aged four and upwards in meditation. As well as learning various types of meditation for children, you will also be able to join the Little Buddha program as our representative in the areas where you live and work.
The courses last 1 day (8h) and are divided into two parts.
1st: Meditation for adults: In this first part we will address the basic principles of meditation, because only those who understand and feel what meditation can then teach it correctly. Let us teach what is meditation in its essence and also various meditation techniques so that the participants can feel the one they prefer to practice at home. In this first part we also intend to demystify meditation, that is, to imply that meditation is a holistic practice, intrinsic to the human being, and that it does not have to be linked to any religion. Several meditations are made throughout the session.
2nd: Meditation for children:
In the second part we will focus on our main objective: meditation with children. Once we have understood and felt meditation in a general way, let us consider how we can adapt this practice to the younger ones. Initially, we will discuss how to present and explain what meditation is to children and young people, we will talk about some ways to motivate and engage in this type of practice. It will be demonstrated how to adapt and select among the various types of meditation taking into consideration the age and level of development of the target children and youth. Various techniques will be taught, distinguishing between meditations of mindfulness, relaxation, concentration and emotional management, so that participants can apply the ones they like best and those that best fit their goals / situation. Let’s talk about the biggest challenges we can face in engaging in these practices with children and young people and how we can overcome them.
The formation of the Little Buddha is much more than a formation, it is dedication, it is affection, it is love for the project, for the work that they do.
Gratitude for teaching how to reach each child by transmitting in such a welcoming way how we can help make our children happier.
Congratulations on the brilliance in your eyes every time you talk about the project.
